EBC Treks with Chola pass & Gokyo Lake  is one of the most adventurous trekking in the Everest Region. It follows the route via Mt. Everest Base Camp (5364m.), high pass called Chola Pass at 5420 meters into Gokyo Lake. Trekking to Everest Base Camp, Chola Pass – Gokyo begins with an amazing flight to Lukla. From Lukla, you will walk uphill slowly following the trail to the Dudh Kosi (it means ‘River of Milk’), and all through forests of rhododendron, pine, and magnolia.  After a few hours of trekking, you will eventually reach Namche Bazaar (3,340 m) and spend one more day at Namche Bazaar (the delightful Sherpa capital) for acclimatization and optional hike around. From Namche, you will visit other Sherpa villages such as Tengboche, Pangboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorek Shep before heading for Everest Base Camp.

After you reach Gorakshep, you trek to Everest Base Camp and next morning ascend to Kala Patthar (5,545m.). From Kala Pattar, you enjoy an impressive close-up view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse , Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt Ama Dablam, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Kangtega, Mt. Thamserku, and many others. When you return from Gorekshep you follow the route through Lobuche and reach Dzongla. After Dzongla, next day you cross Chola Pass (5,420m.) and then will move towards Gokyo Lake via crossing probably the world’s longest glacier; Ngozumpa Glacier, and valley Thaknak/Dragnag. From Gokyo you climb Gokyo Ri (5369m.) and from the top of Gokyo Ri you will enjoy stunning peaks of different mountains such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyo, Mt Ama Dablam, Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Kangtega, Mt. Thamserku, and many others. From Gokyo you will return via Machhermo, Dole, Phortse-Tenga, Mong Dada, Sanasa, Kyanjuma and Namche Bazaar to Lukla. While on the trek you will enjoy the incredible mountain scenery until you reach Lukla airstrip. Next day morning you take a flight back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Arrive at the Tribhuvan international airport where you will be welcomed by Adventure Blossom Treks & Expedition ( Pvt,) Ltd representative and transferred to your hotel. This day is simply an arrival day and there will be no organized activities. So, you will have some free time to relax or walk around for local sights. A pre-departure meeting will be held early evening and you will be introduced with your trekking guide. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Today after breakfast, we start guided sightseeing to major historical and religious sites in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites that include the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddhanath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. After the Tour you will meet with Tour Organizer and Guide for briefing about your Trek. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

An early morning wake up and transfer to the domestic airport to board the flight to Lukla. We take off to our destination-Lukla- on a 35 min scenic mountain flight. After a cup of tea at local Lodge in Lukla, we will tread on the legendary “Everest Highway” which heads downwards through the alpine valley following the “Dudh Kosi” or milk river (named after its milky color from glacial silt). We reach Phakding after 3hrs walk and end our first-day trek here. Overnight at lodge.

Today we walk mostly uphill through the alpine valleys. We cross Dudh Kosi River a few times before we reach Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital of the Khumbu region. In the evening, walk around the market or hike till the top of Namche for better view of snow capped mountains. On a clear day, you get panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Kusum Kangru, Kwangde and Taweche on the way to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at lodge.

Acclimatization is important before proceeding to higher altitudes. This is the first acclimatization day in Namche bazaar that everyone should make into their Everest region trekking itinerary. Most probably you will hike up to Everest View Hotel(3,880m.) via Sagarmatha National Park Museum. You can explore around and relax. Overnight at lodge.

The trail follows a fairly flat path along the valley with stunning views of Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse coming into view. There is a steep descent taking us through a forest towards the bridge over the Dudh Kosi. After crossing the river we climb up a zigzagging path through a rhododendron forest where we may encounter both musk deer and wild colorful peacocks. The climb goes steep as we approach Tyangboche, which opens up to breathtaking views of Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Taboche. Tyangboche, famous for its legendary monastery, is the largest in the Khumbu area. There will be time to visit both the monastery and the museum. After visiting Tyangboche monastery we continue our trek to Debuche. Overnight at lodge

This stretch of the trek from Deboche to Dingboche is through some pretty nice shady forest trails, full of Birches, Conifers, and Rhododendrons. The trail continues along the ridge on the true right side all the way to Dingboche while Ama Dablam's thumb like visage dominates the trail most of the time. In the late afternoon hike up towards Nagarjuna Hill for better view and acclimatize you body. Overnight at lodge.

This is second explore day of trekking.In this day we have breakfast at same lodge and strat a day hike up to Nagarjun hill (4750m). Trail goes to their looks steepy .It takes roughly 3-4 hrs and distance almost 3-4 miles. we go to north west part and see all mountains including Mt Makalu (8481m) and many more and same trails back to the lodge. After having a lunch you can go to the bakery around Dingboche and relax.Overnight stay at lodge.

The trail ascends a bit up to the Chorten above Dingboche and then gradually ascends to northwest Khumbu valley until we reach Duglha. From Duglha the trail is steeply uphill and we reach the memorial place of people who died while climbing Everest. Then, the trail from this point drops a bit and follows the western side of the valley to Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.

From Lobuche we trek to Gorak Shep following the Khumbu Glacier and after exploring the place we hike to Everest Base Camp. We watch the spectacular view of the Khumbu icefall and the route to the South Col. Then we return to Gorakshep for overnight stay retracing back our previous trail. Overnight at lodge.

From Gorek Shep 2 hours of early hike to the summit of Kala Patthar to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Everest and other neighbor peaks. Like any other high points in the region, the top of Kala Patthar will greets you with sunrise view over the mountains, i.e. Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren,Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Taboche, Cholatse and other small peaks and down of Kalapatthar you will see the Everest Base Camp, Khumbu Ice Fall, and Khumbu Glacier. Enjoy the view and make a Panoramic pictures; before hike down to Gorak Shep for breakfast. After breakfast, you will follow hike back trails as you used yesterday till Lobuche, following the Khumbu Glacier. From Lobuche you will go for about 20 minutes down trail till branches from here you will take right trail leaving the main trail. On the way you will have a intoxicated view of Ama Dablam, Pheriche, Taboche peak and Cholatse Tsho. Near to the village of Dzongla you will need to ascend. Rest, relax, and overnight at lodge.

Today, we will start earlier after having hot breakfast, by wearing warm clothes. Starting with easy trails, and later make a steep climb over the rocks. You will be on the top of Chola Pass(5,420m.) with the bunches of Buddhist prayers flags, via passing the glaciers. From the top you could have a mesmerizing view of Cholatse, Ama Dablam, Ngozumpa Glacier, Pharilapche and Kyajo RI. After enjoying the view we will descend from the pass following the rocky cliff. From the base of the cliff, you will climb up the valley from where, you will trek down for about 1.5 to 2 hours to the reach Thaknak/Dragnag. Stay overnight at tea house.

Today our destinations is Gokyo. Even though, today is our short day of trek in hours today is very challenging due to Ngozumpa glacier. After crossing the Ngozumpa glacier, short descend will take you to Gokyo. Check in lodge, take a lunch, after the lunch climb approx 2 hours to Gokyo RI (5,360m), marked by colorful flag. From top, you will have a luring view of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Taboche and if you check down, you could see mesmerizing view of Gokyo Lake, Ngozumpa Glacier and small settlement of Gokyo. After enjoying the view trek down to the lodge, overnight stay.

Today by leaving that Heavenly place on back we are going to descend towards Dole. We will start our trek down late. If you would like, you may make a circuit of the Lake early morning or Leisure in the morning, having late breakfast (If you want you could start after Lunch too. Trek back to Dole. Overnight stay at tea house.

Our destinations today is Namche Bazar. From Dole downhill to Phunki Tenga, crossing a wooden bridge stairs up to Mong Dada, from where take a brilliant shots of snow capped mountains before heading towards Kyanjuma. From here the trails is pretty flat till Namche. On the way, there is huge possibility to encounter some wild life like Himalayan Thar, Musk deer and the colorful Danphe; national bird of Nepal.

On this final day's trek we reach Lukla. This 7 to 8-hour trek takes us through the villages of Jorsale, Monjo, Phakding, Ghat, Thado Koshi, and Cheplung. On arrival in Lukla you will have time to relax and celebrate the completion of your trek.

This morning we will transfer you to Lukla airstrip for your flight back to Kathmandu. The 35-minute flight to Kathmandu usually leaves early from Lukla but this depends on the weather. Transfer to your Hotel.

We will drop you to the International airport to catch your flight back to your home and wish for your safe journey.
